The Department of Behavioral Sciences in the College of Health Sciences at Midwestern University (MWU), Downers Grove campus, invites applications for a part-time (0.5 FTE), core faculty position in the APA-accredited Psy.D. Preferred candidates will have interest or experience in teaching clinical courses focused on assessment and report writing, including projective techniques, lifespan development, biological and/or cognitive-affective bases of behavior, the history and systems of psychology and/or integrated healthcare. Faculty responsibilities include planning, developing, and teaching courses in the curriculum, academic advising, and dissertation mentoring. Service responsibilities include participation in Program, College, and University committees and active involvement in the professional activities of state, regional, and national organizations. A record of prior teaching experience, scholarly productivity, and professional service will enhance the candidate’s application.  Rank is at the Assistant Professor level or commensurate with experience. Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of the Counseling Center, the Assistant Director of the Counseling Center is responsible for providing a coordinated and comprehensive system of treatment services aimed at enhancing the academic, emotional, and social development and well-being of students while promoting respect for self, others, and diversity within the University community. In collaboration with the Director and the Associate Director, the Assistant Director ensures the successful delivery of all forms of service for the Counseling Center. Clinical Duties
Provide individual and group counseling with students experiencing personal concerns while continuously adhering to ethical and legal standards.

Conduct crisis appointments, intakes, post-hospitalization meetings, psychological assessments, and other specialized clinical interventions.

Continuously compose and update clinical records in a timely manner.

Participate in the rotation of on-call and after-hours crisis management, as assigned by the Director.

Administrative Duties
Abide by and maintain Counseling Center and University policies and procedures.

In consultation with the Director and Associate Director, continually monitor, assess, and modify, when needed, operations within the Counseling Center.

Outreach Duties
Develop and implement psychoeducational outreach programs, including those requested by administrators, faculty, staff, or student organizations.

Serve as the Counseling Center liaison to one or more university departments.

Training Duties
Contribute to the training and evaluation of graduate-level trainees.

Function as an individual supervisor for trainees that includes consistent supervisory meetings and oversight of trainee record-keeping.

Provide on-going feedback to trainees and compose and utilize formalized evaluations for trainees.

Provide group supervision to trainees as needed.

Additional Functions
Coordinate, or assist in, Counseling Center efforts in a particular domain (e.g., social media, sports psychology, substance use, Title IX).

This is a full-time 10-month position.

Job Requirements:

Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field.

Must hold an active Rhode Island professional license or obtain a Rhode Island professional license within 1 year of start date.

Minimum of 1 year of professional experience working with a young adult population.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in the training and supervision of graduate-level trainees.

Individual and group treatment skills with additional experience in crisis intervention and case consultation.

Knowledge and experience in working with diverse populations of students and university personnel.

Ability to work non-traditional hours and represent the Counseling Center on an infrequent basis for campus events, emergency situations, and outreach programs.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
