The Department of Psychology at Colorado State University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. One is in HEALTH DISPARITIES, and the other is in INDUSTRIAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL (IO) PSYCHOLOGY. Both have appointment dates of August 16, 2019.

Required qualifications for BOTH positions: Ph.D., or anticipated Ph.D. completion by 07/30/2019 in Psychology or related discipline. Additional Required Qualifications for Health Disparities: For related disciplines, evidence must be provided of the candidate’s ability to teach courses in psychology.  Successful candidates must also have an active research program related to health disparities (i.e., a clear and consistent record of publication in health disparities), and evidence of commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additional Required Qualifications for IO: Individuals with an equivalent degree in a closely related area to Psychology, IO, and/or Data Science will be considered with evidence of IO related research and ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in psychology.

Preferred qualifications for BOTH positions: (1) Experience in undergraduate and/or graduate instruction and mentoring; (2) demonstrate commitment to and the capability of obtaining external research funding; (3) evidence of ability to collaborate with and develop partnerships with colleagues within and outside of the Psychology Department; and (4) Consistent with CSU and Department values, commitment to diversity, inclusion, and social justice (see special instructions under STEPS TO APPLY). Additional Preferred Qualifications for Health Disparities: Postdoctoral research experience and a research focus that complements one or more areas of interest to the Department (e.g. addictive behaviors, environmental psychology, gender and culture, medically underserved populations, occupational health, prevention science, relationships and family, aging). Additional Preferred Qualifications for IO: Priority may be given to candidates with one or more of the following preferred qualifications: (1) Active research program related to Data Science and/or IO. Our emphasis is on a data scientist with an IO background, to teach, mentor students, and conduct research that is relevant to IO psychology. Candidates with a clear and consistent record of publication in Data Science relevant to IO psychology will be preferred over candidates whose publication records are primarily outside of Data Science and/or IO, but who have a few data science-related or IO publications. Although the area of specific research interest within data science and IO is open, successful candidates will be expected to teach core curricular classes within the Department of Psychology, including Industrial and/or Organizational psychology and Data Science; teach advanced quantitative methods and/or methods in Data Science for psychology graduate students; provide evidence of teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in industrial psychology; and teach psychological measurement, methods, and advanced statistical analyses such as SEM and longitudinal analyses.
