The Department of Psychology at Arizona State University is inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in its Behavioral Neuroscience Program. This is an academic year, benefits-eligible position with an anticipated start date of August 2020. The successful candidate will be expected to make scholarly contributions in behavioral neuroscience, mentor graduate students, contribute to teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and participate in service to the department, university and profession as appropriate.

The candidate will complement and expand existing expertise of Behavioral Neuroscience faculty, who study cognition, behavior, and their neural bases in non-human animal models.  The candidate will have opportunities to interact with other groups within the Psychology Department and across campus, including but not limited to Cognitive Science, Clinical Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and the School of Life Sciences. Additional opportunities for collaboration include a large and growing neuroscience community at ASU and in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The requirements for this position include: (1) a Ph.D. or equivalent in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a closely-related discipline at the time of appointment; (2) evidence of high-quality peer reviewed research and excellence in scholarship, as well as evidence of a productive, externally-sponsored research program—or the potential to develop one; and (3) evidence of exemplary undergraduate and graduate student mentoring and teaching. Desired qualifications are 1) interdisciplinary, translational, and/or brain-behavior research strengths; and 2) the ability to cultivate and support a diverse faculty and student population.

The College values our cultural and intellectual diversity, and continually strives to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment. We are especially interested in applicants who can strengthen the diversity of the academic community.
