The Department of Psychology at McKendree University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology with expertise in Cognitive Science or Neuroscience. The position will require 12 credits of teaching per semester from a selection of courses in our psychology and biopsychology programs. Courses will include Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods, Cognitive Psychology, Biopsychology, as well as courses within one’s specialty area. Successful candidates will have an active program of research that offers learning opportunities for undergraduates.
McKendree University, the oldest college in Illinois, is a private, liberal arts institution that serves 2,500 undergraduates on the Lebanon, Illinois campus, located 25 minutes from downtown St. Louis. Within this context, other responsibilities of the position will include academic advising; serving on university committees; contributing to departmental work such as assessment; and supervising internships, research, and student organizations. Teaching opportunities also exist in our growing online degree program, Honors Program, first-year experience (UNI 101), Biopsychology, and Forensic Studies.
Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and a Ph.D. in psychology, or who are ABD with a completion date before Fall 2019.
