Faculty Position. The Department of Psychology at Northern Illinois University anticipates making a tenure-track appointment in school psychology for fall 2018 at the rank of Assistant Professor. The NIU school psychology program is APA-accredited at the doctoral level and NASP approved at the Specialist level. Qualifications include the following: 1) a Ph.D. from an APA-accredited program at the time of employment; 2) evidence of and strong potential for independent, programmatic, and productive scholarship; 3) evidence of and strong potential for quality teaching to diverse groups of students; and 4) eligibility for Illinois educational licensure required and eligibility for Illinois professional licensure preferred. Responsibilities will include maintaining an active and successful research program, teaching two courses each semester that include graduate and undergraduate courses, supervising graduate student research (theses and dissertations), securing extramural funding, and serving as a role model for Ph.D. students in a program that values research, teaching, and practice.Northern Illinois University values candidates who have experience working in settings with students from diverse cultural backgrounds, and who possess a commitment to improving their access to higher education and achievement.
