Position Summary:

The Associate Dean of the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology is responsible for assisting in providing academic leadership and administrative oversight at Ferkauf as well as facilitating the day-to-day operations of the School. The Associate Dean is part of the Ferkauf leadership team that includes the Program Directors, Director of the Parnes Clinic, Ferkauf Director of Admissions, and Ferkauf Registrar. This position will begin on July 1, 2023.

Position Responsibilities:

  • The Associate Dean is responsible for overseeing academic operations of existing academic programs, for developing new masters and certificate programs, and building enrollment. This will include working with program directors to set strategic goals for enrollment, and working with YU marketing and Ferkauf admissions to improve recruiting and outreach to meet enrollment targets while raising student quality
  • Overseeing curriculum assessment and continuous improvement
  • Working with the program directors and the Provost’s office on curricular changes and updates, and accreditation activities
  • Faculty and staff development, including preparation of tenure and promotion cases
  • Working with the Ferkauf’s graduate student organization on matters of student life
  • Assisting with planning and implementing educational, student, and alumni events at Ferkauf
  • Overseeing student outcome assessments
  • Opportunity to teach 1 – 2 courses a year

Experience & Educational Background:

  • The successful candidate will have earned a doctorate and have a demonstrated record of distinguished scholarship and academic leadership
  • The candidate should be qualified for a tenured appointment at the rank of associate or full professor and be licensed as a psychologist
  • Prior experience in higher education, teaching and administration, and familiarity with the APA accreditation standards
  • Prior experience as a Department Chair, Program Director, or Director of Clinical Training is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated evidence of scholarly achievement and a commitment to student learning and cultural and ethnic diversity
  • Promising candidates should have the ability and disposition to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students

Salary Range:

$120,000 – $180,000
