The Counseling Center at NC State University is recruiting new members for our dynamic team.  The Counseling Center assists NC State University students experiencing personal, academic or vocational problems. The goal of the Counseling Center is to provide students with professional counseling services and outreach to help them cope with issues that may impede successful academic performance. The Counseling Center also offers crisis intervention and psychological/psychiatric assessment as well as consultation with others who have concerns about the mental/emotional state of NC State students. Our services are primarily short-term in nature and we make referrals to other helping professionals and community agencies as appropriate.  We are recruiting for the following 12 month, permanent positions:

The Associate Director for Clinical Services is required to perform administrative duties, provide direct service to students, consult with university faculty/staff, and participate in supervision and training. This person will lead in developing, revising, and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure adherence to best clinical practices, and legal and ethical codes. The Associate Director for Clinical Services will oversee clinical systems initiatives such as stepped care, triage, case management, groups, and other relevant areas . This position will be responsible for coordination of multidisciplinary teams and committees and will directly supervise a number of Assistant Directors and/or Coordinators, as well as other clinical staff (as assigned).

Experience / Qualifications:  A Master’s degree in counseling or psychology and have a minimum of four years of post-licensure clinical/counseling experience. An independent license to practice counseling or psychology in NC is required and must be maintained. The Associate Director will also have a minimum of two years of demonstrated administrative and leadership/supervisory experience. The Associate Director will have strong clinical, management, organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as demonstrate a commitment to diversity and multicultural competence. This position requires the ability to handle crises and complex clinical situations, and must be able to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Must meet requirements to supervise within licensing discipline.  A minimum of five years post-licensure experience and a minimum of three years of demonstrated administrative and leadership/supervisory experience, preferably in a large university counseling center. Experience with program development and evaluation preferred. Graduation from a CACREP or APA accredited program.

These positions will provide professional individual and group counseling services and outreach to NC State students as well as consultation to University administrators, staff and others who have concerns about the mental/emotional status of NC State students.

Experience / Qualifications:  Master’s degree required and a doctorate preferred in psychology, counseling, or clinical social work or closely-related field. Appropriate licensure must be obtained/maintained according to NC laws.  Special consideration given to candidates for experience working with minority and marginalized populations, specifically men of color and the transgender community.

This position’s responsibilities will include Individual and group counseling of NC State students/clients (personal, academic, and vocational assessment and counseling); psychological assessment; developmental and crisis counseling; couples counseling; evaluation of students for withdrawal recommendations for the University and Coordinate bi-weekly Eating Disorder Treatment Team (EDTT) with Counseling Center and Student Health team members; Provide substantial direct services for clients with eating disorder and disordered eating symptoms; Serve as primary consultant for Counseling Center EDTT guidelines and procedures

Experience / Qualifications: Master’s degree required in psychology, counseling, or clinical social work or closely-related field.  Appropriate licensure must be obtained/maintained according to NC laws.    Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated eating disorder treatment experience.
