<p><span style="color: #000000">Faculty will perform teaching, research and advising duties in area(s) of expertise: share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000">Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment. All CUNY employees must reside within a commutable distance to their campus.</span></p>
<p><span id="HRS_SCH_WRK_DESCR100$1lbl" class="ps-text">QUALIFICATIONS</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Calibri"><span style="font-size: medium"><span style="color: #000000">Doctorate in Community Organizing, Community Psychology, Social Justice, Social Work, Human Services, or related fields. </span></span></span><span style="color: #000000">In addition, the successful candidate will be able to teach successfully, has a demonstrated record of scholarship or achievement, and will be able to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. Forty-seven percent of John Jay students are first-generation college students. <p><span style="color: #000000">PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Calibri"><span style="font-size: medium"><span style="color: #000000">A minimum 5 of years’ experience in community organizing and/or teaching higher level (300 and 400 level) undergraduate courses from counseling, organizing, community justice, multicultural, and/or social justice perspectives. Candidates with experience at multiple levels of organizations, working in public health, educating for social change at the university and community level, and/or a background in policy and development are encouraged to apply.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span id="HRS_SCH_WRK_DESCR100$2lbl" class="ps-text">COMPENSATION</span></p>
<p>Salary commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience within the range of $76,395 – $104,057.</p>
