The Towson University Counseling Center seeks to fill a Training Director/Associate Director position. This position will provide psychological services to the university and its students, including clinical, training, outreach, and other modalities. The position requires an individual who can provide collaborative leadership to promote a well-functioning Counseling Center and a healthy campus. This individual will assume responsibility for all agency training programs (internship program, externship program, staff development) and serve as second in command of the Counseling Center.

We seek a Training Director/Associate Director who, in addition to having strong clinical skills, will collaborate in the Counseling Center’s efforts to provide services in new and creative ways. Responsibilities
- As an Associate Director, assumes regular delegated functions from Director, pertaining to internal management of the Counseling Center and other duties assigned.
- Serves as Director when the Director is unavailable.
- Regularly available for consultation and emergency response in an on-call capacity including nights and weekends.
- Ensures that the needs of students are addressed in emergency situations by coordinating and/or providing crisis intervention services during office hours and after hours as needed.
- Consults and collaborates with the Director and leadership to develop and manage Center goals, processes, funding priorities, and staff-team building.
- Administratively supervises all staff when the role of acting Director is delegated.
- Routinely supervises regular administrative supervisees.
- Advises and recommends to Director regarding relative merits of expenditures and allocation of staff resources.
- Participates in meetings between the Director and staff regarding conflicts, performance problems, and team-building activities, especially regarding work in the coordinated area.
- Full administration of Doctoral Internship program in Health Service Psychology including recruitment, selection, coordination, training, supervision, and evaluation of doctoral level interns.
- Maintains accreditation from the APA for doctoral internship training.
- Maintains Maryland licensure continuing education standards by providing continuing education programs for psychologists.
- Contributes to the training of doctoral interns by conducting seminars and other training activities.
- Participates in a range of activities necessary to maintain Counseling Center training programs.
- Supervises doctoral interns, externs, and/or unlicensed staff members in their provision of psychological services, in professional development, and in support of the Counseling Center training program.
- Provide psychological services to students and consultation to faculty, and staff on both a regular and emergency basis, and when necessary, during non-traditional hours
- Collaborate in efforts to provide services in new and creative ways; adhere to agency standards regarding case management and documentation.
- Provide clinical supervision and training to doctoral interns and externs.
- Provides outreach programming as assigned, including psychoeducation, health-education, and consultation in the Counseling Center Outreach Program. Assist with recorded and online forms of programs and applications, including self-help resources, and Counseling Center web pages.
- Serve on divisional and university committees, task forces, and standing committees including Care Team, Tiger Advocacy Advisory Team (TAAT), and Behavioral Intervention Team, and other committees and task forces as assigned.
Qualifications
- A Doctoral Degree in Psychology (ABD may be considered).
- An expectation for this position is to be fully licensed as a psychologist prior to hire, and to be fully licensed in Maryland within 6 months of being hired.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a college or University Counseling Center.
- Experience and interest in serving a diverse student body
