Starting Salary Range: $6,334.00 – $8,695.00 / monthly. Starting salary is based on fixed criteria including the number of years as a licensed LCSW/LMFT and the type of experience.

The Licensed Master’s Prepared Psychotherapist, Generalist reports to the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and is assigned duties as specified herein. The Licensed Master’s Prepared Psychotherapist, Generalist will provide high quality clinical services; community psychology/outreach and consultation services; and may provide supervision/training of doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows. All CAPS staff are expected to have awareness, knowledge, and skills to effectively provide professional service to a diverse student body.
All the Licensed Master’s Prepared Psychotherapist, Generalist activities are performed within the limits of standards and ethical principles of the California Board of Psychology, as well as, applicable legal mandates for mental health professionals in the State of California.
A partial-year career appointment is established to accommodate foreseeable seasonal fluctuations in staffing, operational, or other needs and contains regularly scheduled furlough periods during which the incumbent remains an employee and retains health benefits, but is not at work. Please note that the Licensed Master’s Prepared Psychotherapist’s furlough period is for 4 weeks in the summer (dates to be determined) and is unpaid time off while benefits remain active.

• Demonstrated clinical experience with individuals using a brief therapy model
• Demonstrated strong clinical and crisis management skills, including ability to work with high acuity students with complex mental health needs
• Experience facilitating psychotherapeutic and psycho-educational groups
• Experience implementing multiculturally sensitive outreach programs and psychoeducational workshops
• Demonstrated multicultural competence in mental health service provision
