The Doctor of Psychology program at Augsburg University invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position to begin August 22, 2022. The Clinical Psychology PsyD program at Augsburg University continues the legacy of the former Minnesota School of Professional Psychology of providing excellent training to future clinical psychologists using a practitioner-scholar model with an emphasis on multiculturalism and social justice. The Program is relatively new to Augsburg and is engaging in an APA-accredited teach-out for former MSPP students, as well as seeking accredited-on-contingency status for our new students. Our program is growing and expanding. We offer small class sizes and a cohesive, egalitarian faculty. Classes are generally offered on weekdays, with occasional evening classes. 

Responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, service, and academic advising. All faculty are licensed psychologists and faculty are afforded one day per week for professional practice and/or scholarship. Successful candidates will have demonstrated competence and experience in teaching Cognitive and Objective Assessment. This candidate will be leading the program’s assessment curriculum; candidate will also lead seminars in psychological assessment and engage in long-term planning of the assessment curriculum. The candidate will also be expected to teach additional courses that may include (but are not limited to): Projective Assessment, Physiological Psychology; Cognition and Affect; Introduction to Diversity, Person-Centered Psychotherapy, History and Systems of Psychology; and other topics depending on candidate interest and program needs. Candidates are not expected to teach all of these additional courses, but should be able to address a range. Candidates with a robust program of research and expertise in multicultural assessment and/or neuropsychology, as well as leadership, research, and practice with clients and/or students from diverse backgrounds are preferred.  

Requirements for this position include a Ph.D. or PsyD. in clinical psychology or a closely related field (e.g., counseling, school psychology) by the time the position begins. Licensure as a psychologist is preferred but not required. The Clinical Psychology Program at Augsburg University and the University itself are especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the diversity of our community through their teaching, research, and/or service.
