Open Rank Professor, Prevention and Intervention Science in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and related developmental disabilities

The Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology (CCSP) at the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education (GGSE) invites applications for an open-rank tenure-track or tenured faculty position (assistant, associate, or full professor level) with a specialty in clinical, school, or counseling psychology to begin July 1, 2018. We seek applicants with expertise in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and related developmental disabilities, with a focus on prevention and intervention science. The appointed person would also help to expand UCSB’s Koegel Autism Center research programs and further its reputation as a national and international leader in autism-related scholarship and clinical expertise.

Recent and prospective doctoral recipients, post-doctoral scholars, researchers, and faculty members at all career stages are encouraged to apply. The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service. Responsibilities may include (a) research and grant-writing, (b) graduate and undergraduate teaching, (c) clinical supervision, (d) doctoral student advising, and (e) university and public service.

Our doctoral program in Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association. We seek applicants who can contribute to the CCSP vision and mission (https://www.education.ucsb.edu/ccsp). The CCSP Vision is — Innovations for Excellence and Equity in Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology. The CCSP Mission is — To generate and disseminate knowledge, provide expertise, and prepare the next generation of diverse scholars in applied psychology. The Department of CCSP strives to be recognized for excellence and innovation in research that fosters the psychological well-being and social equity of all people, especially vulnerable populations. The successful candidate will have a doctorate in Psychology. Preference will be given to applicants with a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program. It is desirable that candidates will be license eligible or licensed as a psychologist in the state of California.

The GGSE offers masters and doctoral degrees from the Department of Counseling, Clinical and School Psychology and the Department of Education, as well as teaching credentials and masters of education degrees from the Teacher Education Program. The School also offers three undergraduate minors: Educational Studies, Applied Psychology, and Science & Mathematics Education.
