clinical track Postdoctoral Fellows, and one Interpersonal Violence (IPV) track Postdoctoral Fellow. For
the General track, trainees will receive advanced clinical training and supervision in brief therapy, group
counseling, and crisis intervention in an active and diverse university counseling service. For the IPV
track, trainees will receive advanced clinical training and supervision in brief therapy, group counseling,
and crisis intervention with survivors of child abuse, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking.

Responsibilities of both positions include:

The postdoctoral year is an opportunity for Fellows to continue to hone their clinical and professional
skills, develop their professional identities, accumulate hours required for licensure, and transition from
being students/trainees to functioning as independent professionals ready to assume the
responsibilities of being licensed psychologists. The IPV track Fellow will gain specialized skill in
assessing and treating interpersonal trauma. The IPV Postdoctoral Fellow will be supervised by the
Interpersonal Violence Specialist on staff and work closely with other departments on campus who
coordinate case management and response to IPV trauma.

Basic Qualifications: At the time of application, the minimum requirement is the completion of all
requirements for doctoral degree in counseling or clinical psychology from an APA/CPA accredited
program, except dissertation (ABD status) and internship.

Additional Qualifications: All requirements for doctoral degree in counseling or clinical psychology from
an APA/CPA accredited program must be met and verified by start date of appointment, including the
successful completion of an APA/CPA accredited internship.

Preferred Qualifications: University counseling center internship, or at least 1 year experience working in
a university counseling center. For the IPV track, previous focused training, research, or clinical

The training year begins on August 28, 2019, and ends on August 27, 2020. Fellows are full-time staff
members and receive an annual stipend of $47,476 (paid monthly). Fellows receive vacation, sick leave,
professional development time, and other university benefits. Per University of California policy, UCSB
requires applicants to pass a background check as a condition of employment.

The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence
of the academic community through research, teaching and service as appropriate to the position.
UCSB is one of ten campuses in the University of California system. The campus is located on an 815-
acre coastal site nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez mountain range, 10 miles from
Santa Barbara and 100 miles north of Los Angeles. The Santa Barbara area offers an outstanding quality
of life.

UCSB ranks among the top 10 public universities in the nation. A member of the Association of American
Universities, it is home to six Nobel Laureates, about 900 renowned faculty members, and dozens of
elected members or fellows of prominent academies and associations.
Student enrollment is approximately 25,000, and our combined student population is increasingly
