The Position
Reporting to the Director of Counseling & Psychological Services, this position is responsible for providing psychotherapy, crisis intervention and mental health outreach services to enhance the psychological and emotional welfare of PEA students.  Position will also include outreach and education to students.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a master’s degree. The candidate must have at least three years of professional experience in counseling adolescents or young adult population.   

The ideal candidate will have:

• Demonstrated experience addressing eating disorders, anxiety, depressions and substance abuse. 
• Expertise with trauma, including sexual assault preferred. 
• Experience working collaboratively to develop, facilitate and coordinate prevention programs and initiatives for adolescents.
• Experience working collaboratively to develop, facilitate and coordinate professional development and training programs for faculty and staff in secondary education.
• Must possess a record of service that identifies concern for the safety and well-being of others.
• Demonstrated experience in collaboratively working with students, faculty and administrators and other campus offices to support and expand cultural competence.
• Experience with and understanding of contemporary adolescent/student development issues, trends and best practices.
• Must possess a record of service that identifies concern for the safety and well-being of others.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships with Academy administrators, students and faculty with diplomacy.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Proven strong presentation skills and presence.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills as well as a strong customer (student centered) focus.
• Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain neutrality and work under stress.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to privacy.
• Proficiency in basic data management systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
