Columbia Health is among the nation’s largest and most comprehensive student health programs.   Our Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS), staffed by over 50 Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, and Postdoctoral Fellows is seeking a senior licensed Psychologist to help identify and manage high-risk cases among the CPS patient population.  Serve as a clinical consultant and liaison to one or more schools and or other key campus constituencies in order to promote early intervention in potentially emergent situations.  Supervise postdoctoral fellows and/or early career psychologists, and provide direct clinical services, including group therapy, psychoeducational programs, and brief psychotherapy.

Minimum Qualifications:  Requires Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology or Ph.D. in counseling psychology.  New York State license or eligible.  Requires a minimum of 8 years’ related experience with at least 5 years supervisory experience; preferably in a college or university counseling service or equivalent setting.  Advanced diagnostic and therapeutic skills; particularly using short-term treatment interventions and crisis intervention.  Experience working with young-adult population. Demonstrated ability to work with serious psychopathology (e.g., psychotic and suicidal patients). Require excellent interpersonal and communications skills.  Some evening hours required during the academic year.

Preferred experience in inpatient setting, community mental health, prevention and/or outreach activities. Experience in one or more of the following specialties: eating disorders, alcohol and other substance abuse, multicultural counseling, LGBTQ issues, trauma-informed therapy, veterans’ concerns, health psychology, acculturation challenges among international students (proficiency in Mandarin, Korean, Hindi and/or other languages commonly spoken by international students is a plus).
