The Department of Psychology at Appalachian State University invites applications for two 9-month
tenure track faculty positions in Clinical Psychology to start August 1, 2023. Candidates from minoritized
backgrounds and those who will advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice through their teaching,
research, and service are strongly encouraged to apply.

The first position is at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Area of specialization is open with

The second position is at the rank of Assistant Professor with a specialization in school-based mental

The Department houses a Clinical PsyD program that was established in 2019, with a focus on training
empirically informed clinicians equipped to practice as generalists in rural areas. The program is currently
in the process of applying for APA accreditation and was recently approved for a site visit. The
Department of Psychology has 38 full-time faculty members (31 tenure-track) with additional graduate
programs in Experimental, Industrial-Organizational and Human Resource Management, and School
Psychology. There are approximately 1400 undergraduate majors and 80 full-time graduate students.
