JOB TITLE: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

EDUCATION: PsyD or PhD
California Northstate University is dedicated to educating, developing, and training the next generation of healthcare professionals. The College of Psychology is accredited by WASC and the APA. It is entering its fourth year of operation and expanding its course offerings. We are looking for professors to teach a wide variety of courses in the 2022-2023 academic year. We are also looking for professors who can teach one or more of the following classes in the 2022 spring term:
- Interventions: Groups
- Practicum Preparation 2
- Foundations of Behavior: Cognitive and Affective
- Interventions: Consultation and Supervision
RESPONSIBILITIES
The faculty in the College of Psychology is responsible for:
- Preparing syllabi that follow both APA and WSCUC guidelines
- Teaching courses that are both engaging and informative
- Maintaining good working relationships with fellow faculty and administration
- Participating in the development and revision of curriculum, program evaluation, and assessment of student learning outcomes
- Communicating effectively with students regarding course expectations and performance
- Acting as an Academic Advisor
- Chairing/participating in dissertation committees
- Attending all required departmental and University committee meetings
- Maintaining current and relevant subject matter expertise in the topics covered in their course
- Having fundamental knowledge of effective learning strategies and methodologies
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have:
- A PhD or PsyD in counseling or clinical psychology
- Experience in graduate teaching and/or research
- The ability to speak and write clearly and concisely
- Willingness to work with a diverse faculty and student body of varying interests and orientations
Preferred:
- Graduate of an APA accredited program
- Possession of a license to practice psychology in the state of California
