Overview

The PsyD Program in Clinical Psychology Health Emphasis within the School of Health Sciences of Touro University invites applications for a full-time position to join a growing and energetic program. This position involves an appointment in the PsyD Program in the Touro University School of Health Sciences at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position start date will be prior to the Fall Semester of 2024. The successful candidate will have both clinical and research experience appropriate for teaching and scholarship in a doctoral program. Specialty area is open although candidates with training and experience in neuropsychological assessment and/or clinical gero-psychology are preferred. The University places a high priority on teaching excellence and research success with an expectation that the candidate will also be active in their professional field.

Responsibilities

The Touro University PsyD Program in Clinical Psychology has a health emphasis and combines a strong focus on (and commitment to) evidence-based clinical practice in both traditional and integrative health care settings. A deep foundation of our program is that cutting-edge research should inform evidence-based practice, and such practice should inform future research. Thus, training in research is emphasized. The successful candidate will be expected to support our PsyD program through:

  • Teaching two doctoral courses per semester in both Fall and Spring semesters
  • Engaging in doctoral student advising and mentoring
  • Leading a research lab that allows for developing an independent and ongoing line of research (evidence of potential to secure extramural funding is strongly preferred) and supervising and mentoring doctoral dissertations
  • Collaborating with other programs in the School of Health Sciences and other schools within Touro University including Touro University’s New York Medical College
  • University service

This search will begin immediately and will be completed when a suitable candidate is identified. The Touro PsyD program is in the process of applying for APA accreditation.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience

  • Candidates must have a PhD or PsyD degree in Clinical Psychology from an-APA accredited program and have completed an APA-accredited internship.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who broaden the background experience and skill set of our faculty.

Travel

  • Travel between meetings at multiple locations

Maximum Salary

USD $105,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $84,000.00/Yr.
