FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology at The City College of New York (CCNY) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2023. The CCNY Clinical Psychology program is psychodynamically oriented with a longstanding commitment to training professionals who will make clinical, theoretical, and research contributions that address the needs of underserved and minoritized populations. The program is located in Harlem and offers a clinic that serves a highly diverse student body as well as the surrounding community. The ideal candidate blends strong scholarly research interests with clinical acumen. They should have or be developing a program of research in one or more of these areas: psychotherapy process and outcome, lifespan development (e.g., emotion regulation, developmental psychopathology), family systems, health disparities, clinical neuroscience, trauma and addictions, mixed methods research, and linkages between assessment and treatment.

An ideal candidate would also have demonstrated clinical competence with minoritized and underserved populations. The candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, supervision, and mentoring. They will also share responsibility for committee and department assignments, including administrative and other functions. BIPOC candidates are especially encouraged to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Ph.D. in clinical psychology or related discipline from an APA accredited program is required. The candidate should also be licensed or licensed-eligible as a psychologist in New York State. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment. Until further notice, this is a hybrid position, eligible to work remotely and work in the office.
