POSITION: A probationary tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor is available in the Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences. The department seeks a dynamic candidate with expertise in Developmental and/or Educational Psychology who is committed to teaching excellence and to maintaining an active research program involving undergraduates.  This appointment carries an initial two-year probationary appointment beginning on August 22, 2022. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate in the areas of Developmental or Educational Psychology by August 2022 (ABD applicants may be considered but must complete the terminal degree by March 2023). Experience or the ability to teach at least three of the following courses: Educational Psychology, Psychology of Adolescence, Research Methods, and Lifespan Developmental Psychology. The ability to integrate equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) into classroom pedagogy and/or content to enhance our curriculum. Committed to serving as a mentor for historically underrepresented students.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to bring diverse perspectives to the department and the campus. Experience involving undergraduates in research.

DUTIES: Teach courses in the Department of Psychology based on program needs and in accordance with specialization(s); participate in research and scholarly activities; provide academic advising to students as assigned; engage in service to the university, the community, and/or the field; and contribute to department/program, college, and university committees.

DEPARTMENT: Eighteen full-time faculty members and one academic instructor in the Psychology Department represent a broad range of specialty areas including Liberal Arts, Neuroscience, Behavior Analysis, and an accredited School Psychology graduate program. We serve more than 750 undergraduate psychology students, 225 declared minors and over 30 graduate students.
