Roanoke College seeks applicants for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level to begin in August of 2017 (Ph.D. required by start date). The positions are in the following areas: Developmental Psychology and Social Psychology. Both positions consist of teaching undergraduate courses, conducting research, and participating in college service. Applicants must be willing and able to teach courses in their area (see below), as well as introductory psychology, and to contribute to Roanoke’s general education program. For both positions, preference will be given to applicants who can also teach research methods and/or statistics, involve undergraduate students in their research, and attract external funding. 

  1. Candidates should be able to teach several courses in their area (i.e., life-span development, stage-specific development, and special topics courses). Preference will be given to applicants who can collect data from community samples as well as from college students.
  2. Candidates should be able to teach several courses in their area (i.e., social, personality, and special topics courses). Preference will be given to applicants who can offer courses in applied areas.
