The Department of Psychology at Cleveland State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor whose specialization is in Clinical Psychology. The appointment will begin on August 16, 2021. The primary responsibilities of the appointee will be to conduct a research program that includes mentoring undergraduate and graduate students and advising thesis projects; teaching undergraduate courses and courses in the Clinical Psychology specialization of the department’s Master of Arts degree program; and engaging in department, college, and university service. In addition to its undergraduate and Clinical Psychology programs, the Department offers a doctoral program in Adult Development and Aging (in collaboration with the University of Akron); Master’s specializations in Psychological Science, Industrial/Organizational Research, and School Psychology, and a Psychology Specialist program in School Psychology. Cleveland State University is located in a large metropolitan area that allows for research collaboration with major medical centers.
Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. from an APA- or CPA-accredited Clinical Psychology program, and the completion of an APA- or CPA-accredited Clinical Internship by July 1, 2021. Preferred qualifications are a record of scholarship in Clinical Psychology commensurate with experience; postdoctoral research experience; potential for securing external funding for research; record of securing external funding commensurate with experience; teaching interests in area of specialization; potential for, or record of, successful teaching; research specialization in one or more of the following areas within Clinical Psychology: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Health Psychology, Neuropsychology, Cross-cultural Psychology, and/or Substance Use Disorders; and ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.
