The DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY at EAST TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY invites applications for a tenure-track ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR position in Clinical/Health Service Psychology, area of specialization. ALL areas of clinical/counseling psychology will be considered. Interest in serving as the Director of Clinical Training (DCT) is preferred. Candidates from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply. Review of applications will begin on October 15, 2024.

The department expects all successful candidates to establish and maintain active research programs involving undergraduate and graduate students and to pursue extramural funding. Exceptional collaborative research opportunities across various psychological fields are provided by the James H. Quillen College of Medicine and the ETSU College of Public Health. We also look for evidence of candidates’ abilities to contribute excellence in teaching and service and to the collegiality of our thriving department. The department’s teaching load is 2/2, with the potential for negotiated teaching load reductions for those assuming DCT responsibilities, and we are particularly interested in candidates who could teach courses consistent with our graduate program’s mission in integrated healthcare and rural mental health, as well as generalist clinical courses such as psychopathology, assessment, or statistics, or those in the applicant’s primary area of interest.
