JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced candidate who is passionate about behavior analysis and embraces a teacher-scholar-mentor model and will maintain an active research agenda.  In addition to excellence in teaching, other responsibilities include mentoring students in research and fostering relationships with schools and community partners to develop and maintain internship opportunities for students.  Active membership and leadership roles in state and national professional ABA organizations are also encouraged. Service, including committee work at the college, school, and department level, and student advising is expected. 

Responsibilities will include teaching in our verified course sequence and may include Concepts and Principles of ABA, Applied Practice in Behavior Analysis, Single Subject Design in ABA, Advanced Strategies for Behavior Change, Ethics and Professional Issues in ABA. 

The Berry College Applied Behavior Analysis Program has a BCaBA verified course sequence embedded into a minor in ABA for undergraduate students.  The ABA minor is open to all majors across campus.  In addition, the program offers an Autism Endorsement approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission that includes two ABA courses for undergraduate students in the Teacher Education Program and a graduate level Autism Endorsement for individuals who currently hold a teaching certificate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. by the start date in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, School Psychology, or Psychology.  In addition, candidates must also be a BCBA or a BCBA-D by start date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience teaching undergraduate students is highly desirable.  Successful candidates should have clinical experience working with people who have developmental disabilities.  However, research and clinical interests working with diverse populations and subfields are welcome.  Research and/or clinical interests in areas such as Behavioral Gerontology and Athletic Training are welcome. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest in ability to teach additional courses, such as Exceptional Child and Introduction to Psychology. Willingness to work collaboratively with faculty and to mentor students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds are essential.
