Queens College of The City University of New York invites applications for a Lecturer-Doctoral Schedule Position in its NASP approved specialist level program in School Psychology beginning in January 2018. After five years of service, the Lecturer is eligible for a certificate of continuous employment (CCE), which is the equivalent of tenure for faculty hired to teach and perform related faculty functions, but without a research requirement. The program includes bilingual and multicultural specializations. Candidate must have an earned doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field before August 2017. The candidate must be certified or eligible for certification as a School Psychologist and licensed or eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in New York State. Responsibilities include (1) teaching nine [9] graduate courses each academic year in the school psychology graduate program in areas including multicultural counseling and play therapy, child development, intellectual, academic and mental health assessment and interventions from an ecological and multicultural perspective; (2) university-based supervision of field-based graduate students; (3) mentoring and advising school psychology graduate students; (4) coordination of field-based experiences, and (5) university service. Two or more years of full-time teaching experience within a graduate school psychology program is required. Five or more years’ experience mentoring and advising graduate school psychology students required. Five or more years of experience in university-based supervision of field–based graduate students required. Evidence of expertise in multicultural school psychology in teaching, clinical skills and supervising graduate students in the field is required. Strong collaborative and organizational skills are required. Interest and experience in working in urban, multicultural and multilingual settings are highly desirable.
