Ithaca College is hiring a full-time 10 month Mental Health Clinician in the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).
We are a small liberal arts college in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of upstate NY (3-4 hours to NYC, as well as to Niagara Falls). The individual in this position will work full-time during the academic year (10-month position/ August thru May), with June and July as time off in the summer to explore your own pursuits. Other pauses in the school calendar, such week-long paid breaks during Thanksgiving and Winter recess, add to a restorative balance that can be found in college counseling. In addition, staff also accrue personal days and vacation time. For staff convenience, the10-month salary is paid evenly over the 12-month calendar year. Ithaca college prides itself in being named one of just 40 institutes nationwide named among Campus Pride’s 2022 “Best of the Best” colleges and universities for LGBTQ+ students.
Beyond someone with sound generalist skills in mental health treatment, we are looking for a candidate who has knowledge, experience, and cultural self-awareness working with themes related to gender, culture, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disabilities, and socio-economic status, and who has experience and skill with cultural-affirming helping and clinical counseling techniques. Experience and passion for working with Black, African American, Asian, Latinx, First Nations, LGBTQ+, and Disabled communities in academia strongly preferred.
To apply, please submit cover letter, resume/CV, and list of three professional references, preferably including a direct supervisor. Review of applications will begin immediately.
