Missouri State University and the faculty of the School of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences invite applications and nominations for the position of School Director. The Director is a key member of the leadership team of the McQueary College of Health and Human Services. The College consists of 5 major academic units, including the School of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences.

The School of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences consists of programs in Counseling, Psychology, and Social Work offering bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Social Work, master’s degrees in Counseling, Psychology, and Social Work, a Doctor of Psychology Degree, and several certificates. Our programs are accredited through CACREP and CSWE, and the PsyD is seeking accreditation from APA.  Teaching and clinical experiences are delivered by 45 full-time faculty and many part-time faculty. The School of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences seeks a candidate with expertise in counseling, psychology, or social work who can lead the School and facilitate school operations, initiatives, community outreach, fundraising and marketing.  The Director will serve as an advocate for the School with the Dean, university administration, and external constituents.  The Director will collaborate with other Academic Unit Leaders to engage in strategic planning, facilitate interprofessional collaboration, support accreditation processes and program evaluation, advocate for equitable distribution of resources and oversee budgets. The Director will collaborate with colleagues in the unit to recruit and retain faculty, staff, and students.
