The Skidmore College Counseling Center invites applications for two open Staff Clinician position. This is the first of two available positions; this position has a flexible start date (no later than August 1st; a start date earlier in the summer would be preferred). The position is a full-time, 11 month appointment. This position involves providing short-term therapy, including single session work; crisis intervention, including rotation in after-hours on-call coverage in support of our contracted on-call service (ProtoCall); psycho-educational programming; consultation to faculty, staff, and parents; leading a skill-building workshop series and a support group each semester; serving as a liaison to our Opportunity Programs Office; and participation in the Center’s multidisciplinary treatment team, as well as the larger division of Student Affairs.

Qualifications/Educations:

The successful applicant will also be involved in training the college’s Residential Life staff as well as other student leadership training. Candidates should possess a doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or a Master’s in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling; have completed a supervised internship; be licensed or license-eligible within one year as a psychologist or license eligible immediately as an LMHC, LMSW, or LCSW in New York State; have strong diagnostic and clinical skills as well as experience in working with a broad array of psychological, emotional, and developmental concerns; have experience in working with a traditional college-aged population; and have a demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse populations including students of color, international students, and LGBTQA+ students. Expertise in providing short-term therapy and skilled risk assessment/risk management are essential. Experience with single-session therapy and/or a stepped care model would be a plus.

Pay Range:  Commensurate with experience
