Teaching Faculty, Couple and Family Therapy Program (37 views)

Antioch University New England invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor to teach master’s and doctoral level couple and family therapy courses and to supervise internship students. Teaching faculty members are expected to have minimal service to the university and scholarship and will be on a renewable two-year contract. There is a 24 semester hour teaching commitment with this job, some of which may include dissertation advising.

Qualifications: PhD in Marriage/Couple and Family Therapy or in a closely related field (strongly prefer graduate of a COAMFTE-accredited program); AAMFT Approved Supervisor or Supervision Candidate, license-eligible as an LMFT; graduate teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include expertise in one or more of the following areas: online or low-residency instruction experience; competency-based assessment experience; online pedagogy regarding effective models for online clinical training, expertise in family therapy and social justice theories; interest or experience in experiential education methods; interest and/or experience in training supervisors; varied clinical experience.  As Social justice is infused within all aspects of the Antioch programs, a knowledge and commitment to social justice is preferred.

The CFT Programs at Antioch University New England have a focus on social justice and diversity issues. The master’s degree program has been accredited by COAMFTE since 1994 and the doctoral program has been accredited since 2011. The Antioch University Couple and Family Therapy Institute is our clinical practicum training center for first year master’s and doctoral students (who are local) and provides supervision opportunities for local second year doctoral students. The masters and doctoral education are delivered by a low residency model.  Faculty engage with students both in-person at residencies and online throughout the remained of the semester.  Faculty are expected to travel to residencies each semester. Antioch University New England master’s degree and doctoral student body are quite diverse, coming from international locations as well as from different regions of the United States.
