Job Summary

Reporting to the Counseling Services Director, the Training Director will lead a training program based on a philosophy of experiential learning through supervised professional practice – a “learning by doing” process. This position requires knowledge and ongoing monitoring of trends in training, therapeutic interventions, and licensing requirements and communication of this information to staff members, affiliated programs and departments. In addition to serving as the agency’s lead administrator on all training and staff development, the Training Director will engage in the full range of psychological services including assessment (diagnosis), evaluation, consultation and/or psychotherapy to promote the mental health and well-being of patients.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensure as an independent clinician as a Ph.D./Psy.D, LCSW, LMFT, or LPC
  • State licensed in Wisconsin, or license eligible through reciprocity

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • 3 or more years of experience providing services to individuals with significant mental health, substance abuse, or co-occurring needs
  • Evidence of outstanding and culturally competent clinical skills and a well-integrated understanding of brief treatment, crisis intervention, high risk and high acuity populations, and outreach/developmental programming
  • Practical experience with supervision and training one or more of the following:
  • Psychology doctoral students
  • Advanced Practice and Advanced Standing MSW students
  • Post-masters, post-doctoral, or ABD (“all but dissertation”) students from Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling fields
  • Clinical experience serving undergraduate and graduate aged students in one or more of the following:
  • Working with intersecting identities
  • Eating disorders
  • Alcohol and drug abuse assessment/treatment
  • Trauma
  • Demonstrated ability to form strong partnerships with internal and external entities to aid in the provision of a training program
  • Evidence of incorporating cultural competencies and equity practices into training and the implementation of a mental health program
  • Experience with program/curriculum development
