I recently graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Psychological Sciences and a minor in sociology. I love learning the clinical side of psychology; my favorite classes were Abnormal Psychology, and I even took a graduate-level class, Famial Abuse. I am a Second generation Chinese American. I originally lived in Chinatown NYC until I was ten, and then my family moved to Indiana. It was such a drastic change from being surrounded by everyone who looks like you to be the only Asian person in the room. I love to connect since I am passionate about mental health research with Asian Americans. I had the pleasure of working with my college’s cultural center as a research assistant in public health research on the mental health of Asian Americans in rural Indiana. The focus group was high schoolers as well so it felt like a passion project for me able to give back to a community that dear to my heart since how I lived in Indiana with a smaller community than I started as a kid.
